Ladies Retreat

October 9th-11th, 2026

Saddle up for a one-of-a-kind, all-inclusive weekend designed to empower women through connection, challenge, and unforgettable adventure – on the range, on horseback, and at the ranch. Open to women 21 and older.

Meet Your Hosts

Heather Gastelum - Retreat Host

Known as the “Telecom Cowgirl,” Heather Gastelum has spent 30 years as a leader breaking barriers in typically male-dominated roles in the telecommunications and construction industries, specializing in tower portfolio management, operations, and vendor safety programs.

Beyond her corporate career, Heather has spent decades mentoring and empowering women and youth.

Her latest passion project, Cowgirl Capable, was born from her commitment to helping women find their voice and grow their confidence—whether in the boardroom, the saddle, or in self-defense. The women’s-only retreats she created blend firearms training, horseback riding, and personal empowerment, giving participants the skills and mindset to protect themselves and embrace their strength.

Tara Varrelman - Ranch Host

Tara Varrelman grew up on the Whistlin’ Pine Ranch, originally purchased back in 1938 by her grandparents. Her father, Brian Varrelman, took over the business in 1982. Tara worked for her father, guiding trail rides from the young age of 10 years old all the way through college. She is now the 3rd generation to run Whistlin’ Pine Ranch, continuing her father and grandparents’ Western Legacy and love for the land.
